Hi, I’m Debs, let’s start with a clean slate!
I grew up in the heart of the Highlands as the middle child in a family of 6. Life was fun, hectic and always on the go and with 4 kids under 5 years old, my mum could have been a sergeant in the army! Getting anywhere in any order we had to be organised. I guess you could say I was born into organising, planning and decluttering.
Fast forward many years with an array of life experiences which have seen me through various careers from Events Management, Personal Assistant to Support Worker and Team Leader. As a professional organiser and decluttering specialist, I have now found my true calling in helping people organise their homes and lives.
Each role has given me invaluable skills which have been transferable throughout my career and continue to do so. Organising, planning and communication have always been at the forefront of each role I’ve taken on. Life has always been busy but one thing I have always found is the skill to keep my home organised and clutter free, which at the end of a busy day has become my place of zen.
As my favourite pastime was catching up with friends over coffee and cake, I decided to complete my COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) certificate where I learnt skills that are key for this profession. As someone who loves to chat, I learnt the art of listening!!
I started my decluttering journey by helping close friends organise their family lives while they try to balance work and home life in this modern-day world where we all juggle 100 jobs a day. Clear space, clear mind doesn’t come truer when you are working through the process and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My down-to-earth and friendly personality makes the process a calm and simple one and maybe even enjoyable!
I have completed the highly acclaimed ‘Professional Organising’ course (run by APDO) which has allowed me to further develop my skills and confirmed my love of a storage box!
